Who do you coach?

Anyone! Your experience and pace is irrelevant. If you can get out the door and put one foot in front of the other, then you’re a runner in my book.

Whether you’re aiming to do your first parkrun or your 12th ultra marathon, I can offer bespoke training for all abilities and all distances.

Are your training plans unique?

Yes. All plans are bespoke and created exactly to suit your needs. There are no cookie cutter plans here.

How often are plans updated?

This depends on the coaching package you have chosen.

  • Essential – fortnightly
  • Premium – weekly

This means, for example, that if you are on an Essential package, you can expect one update per week.

Premium package users can get weekly updates, but only if it’s necessary. I won’t change your plan if you’re on the right track – imagine how annoying that would be for you – but the option is there.

What does ‘unlimited’ contact mean?

If you have the Premium package, then you can email me, or send me a WhatsApp or text message as often as you need. Those on the Essential package will still receive replies to any queries, but within reason.

Are you insured?

I have public liability & professional indemnity insurance. This is worth checking with any online running coach as some seem to have forgotten about this…

I need convincing…

All coaching packages come with a 14-day free money back guarantee. If you feel it’s not for you, simply let me know before the two weeks are up and I’ll refund you. No hard feelings!

Is having a health condition a problem?

So long as a doctor or other medical professional has not told you to exercise, then there shouldn’t be a problem. All I ask is that you disclose any relevant health conditions in advance. If you’ve any concerns, please contact me.

How do I access my training plan?

All plans are created and hosted on Training Peaks. You will be asked to register an account, or I can do this on your behalf.

What is Training Peaks?

Simply put, it’s an online service designed for coaches and athletes. It allows coaches (me) to create workouts for athletes (you). It’s a totally free service – it won’t cost you a penny.

Once you’ve activated your Training Peaks account, you can view your training schedule – through either the desktop or app version – plus you’ll also receive email reminders of upcoming workouts.

Do I need to use Training Peaks?

It’s the most efficient way for me to develop custom training plans and for you to access them.

The biggest benefit of Training Peaks is that it syncs workouts automatically to your watch. All you need to do is connect your device to your Training Peaks account, then any workout I create for you will appear on your watch. You don’t need to look at a spreadsheet or try and remember what you’re meant to be doing before heading out the door.

A list of compatible devices and apps can be found here.

Another good thing is when you finish your run, it automatically uploads the data for me to view and will assist me to ensure you’re making good progress.

Can I just use Training Peaks to view my plan?

Sure. Just log in, go to your calendar and you’ll see what’s on your schedule. Alternatively, you should also receive regular emails detailing the next day’s workout.

How do I pay?

Once you’ve applied for coaching, I’ll be in touch and when you’re happy to proceed, I’ll send you an online invoice. This is handled securely by Stripe. You can pay either by credit or debit card, as well as Google Pay and Apple Pay.

What’s the cancellation process?

There are no minimum contract periods and you do not need to give notice that you wish to cancel – you can cancel at any time.

Just cancel the recurring payment with Stripe. A subscription can be cancelled up until the day before the next scheduled payment in order for you not to be charged.

If you need help cancelling, then contact me.

How do ongoing payments work?

A recurring monthly payment will automatically be taken by Stripe, using the payment method you provided at the beginning. They will remind you seven days before each payment, allowing you enough time to cancel if necessary.

Do you offer discounts?

I will deduct 10% from any coaching package if you are training for an event on behalf of a charity. All you need to do is send me a link to your sponsorship page and I’ll advise you how to get the reduced rate.

Can you just do a training plan?

If you would like me to create a custom plan without any of the coaching elements, then please contact me.

Do you offer in-person 1:1 coaching?

Not at the moment. This is something I plan to offer in the near future.

Where’s all your legal stuff?

All the legal things can be found here.
